Kyle Wyman started riding motorcycles at the age of 5 on a 1994 Yamaha PW50, and tore up the backyard for three years. In 1998, Father Bob and Mother Kim entered him into his first hare scrambles race at the best kept secret in the flat track community; the Crusaders Motorcycle Club in Medina, NY. Kyle won his heat race and finished 5th in his first flat track feature.
1999
Kyle started riding a PW80 in the 80cc division at the CMC and in 2000 graduated to a Kawasaki KX60. Kyle won his first ever feature race in the 60cc class at the Welland County Motorcycle Club in Welland, ON, Canada.
2001-2002
Kyle made the switch to the 2001 Kawasaki KX85 in hopes of competing in the AMA Sports Dirt Track Grand National Championships in Springfield, IL. Kyle won 3 races at the local CMC and finished in the top ten of both classes at the AMA DTGC against the best kids in the country.
2003
2003 brought a slow racing year for Kyle, with a 5-week family excursion from New York to California on Harley-Davidson street bikes. In the fall of 2003, he graduated to at 250cc Honda and 450cc Honda 4-stroke.
2004
Kyle won the CMC Open Amateur Championship, sweeping the 5 race series and winning 4 Grand Prix races against the Expert competitors. Kyle went to the AMA DTGC again with a broken wrist and highlighted the week with a podium in the 250cc DTX class on the Half Mile.
2005
Kyle started riding a 505cc Rotax in addition to his 450cc Honda and new 250cc 4-Stroke Honda with aspirations of winning the Horizon award at the AMA DTGC in Springfield. He had two national wins in the 505cc class on the half mile and the legendary Springfield Mile. Finished 2nd in the 505cc National Championship. Kyle also won the Ohio State Championship in the 505 Expert and Open Expert classes, winning every single race he entered.
2006
2006 was Kyle’s first year Pro as a flat track competitor. Competing with #33b, he dominated the first ever Pro Sport Invitation-Only event at Lima, Ohio, qualifying on pole, leading every lap and winning the heat race, and leading every lap and winning the main event against the best pro sport riders in the country. Kyle also finished 3rd overall in the Pro Sport national championship at DTGC.
2007
Kyle earned his GNC Singles competition license in 2007 and qualified 9th in his first ever Grand National Championship event at the Daytona Short Track. He then suffered a broken vertebrae in early Spring as a result to a crash while practicing at his house. This essentially ended the season for Kyle. At the end of 2007, younger brother Travis was selected for the 2008 AMA Red Bull U.S. Rookies Cup and pushed all three brothers into road racing. Kyle competed in his first road race as a Novice at Barber Motorsports Park with top ten finishes.
2008
In 2008, Kyle competed in select WERA Club Racing events aboard a 2006 Suzuki GSX-R 600 on the east coast, winning a Novice national race and being pushed to Expert status before the mid-point of the season. He then accomplished top 5 results in the Expert class before the season was over.
2009
In 2009, Kyle received his Pro Road Racing license at the age of 19. He competed in the AMA Pro Supersport division aboard a 2008 Yamaha YZF-R6 with a best finish of 4th place in the season opener at Daytona International Speedway. He made the switch to the ultra-competitive AMA Pro Daytona Sportbike division for the final round of the year and finished 16th and 14th in race one and two. The AMA Pro Supersport series returned to Daytona International Speedway again in October to crown the National Champion, but Kyle was a victim of brake failure in a practice session. With a severely broken leg, Kyle was on the road to recovery with the 2010 season right around the corner.
2010
In 2010, he made the full-time switch to the AMA Pro Daytona Sportbike class on the #133 Yamaha YZF-R6. Battling the leg injury early in the season, Kyle finished 17th and 18th at Road Atlanta for his first race back to the series. He then backed those results with 15th and 20th at Mid-Ohio following a 7th surgery to remove screws from his knee. He then improved to an 8th place finish at Virginia International Raceway and finally scored his career best 6th and 10th place finishes at Barber Motorsports Park for the season finale.
2010 also marked the debut season of the AMA Pro Vance & Hines XR1200 Series. Kyle competed aboard the #33 RMR/Bruce Rossmeyer’s/GEICO Powersports machine with an up-and-down season. He had a best finish of 4th at Road America and Mid-Ohio
2011
2011 marks Kyle’s first attempt at an AMA Pro Championship title, and will compete in every round of the AMA Pro Vance & Hines XR1200 series. Riding for RMR/Bruce Rossmeyer’s/Revolution Performance, he looks to improve on last year’s results.
